Alongside being an integrative person-centred counsellor, I am also a Christian. For clients who share this faith, it can feel grounding to work with someone who holds a similar worldview and understands the role that prayer, scripture and church community can play in daily life. When faith shapes how you understand suffering, hope, relationships and purpose, it can be helpful to explore these themes with a counsellor who already speaks that language and understands its depth from the inside.

Counselling can also be a space to explore spiritual questions, doubts and beliefs without judgement. Some clients use counselling to make sense of their relationship with God, their experience of church or their sense of calling. Others simply appreciate that their faith is recognised as an important part of who they are.
I am very comfortable working with clients of all faiths or none. You do not need to be a Christian to see me and I will never impose my beliefs or steer sessions in a religious direction. My role is to offer a respectful, safe and compassionate space where your story, values and beliefs are honoured.
If your faith is important, we can integrate it. If it is not relevant, we do not need to bring it in. The choice is always yours and the focus remains on what you need for healing, growth and understanding.
Faith Sensitive Support with a Christian Counsellor in Maidstone
I am a registered member of the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC), and I am committed to working with the Churchill Framework in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This framework sets out core competences for therapists who are working with clients’ faith, religious or spiritual issues and it guides me in offering counselling that is both faith-aware and ethically robust.

In practice this means:
- I will not impose my beliefs or try to persuade you to adopt a particular faith position
- I will respect and work sensitively with your own beliefs and experiences whether they feel comforting confusing or painful
- I will keep your autonomy at the centre of our work so that any exploration of faith or spirituality serves your wellbeing and your goals
